After assisting Manchester City in winning the Triple Crown, Erling Haaland has been crowned BBC Sports Personality's World Sport Star of the Year for 2023.
The 23-year-old Norwegian helped City win the FA Cup, Premier League, and Champions League in the 2022â2023 season with 52 goals across all competitions.
For a Premier League team, no player has scored more goals in a season than this one.
With a league-high 36 goals in 38 appearances, Haaland won the Golden Boot award for the 2022â2023 season in the Premier League.
"I appreciate your support in choosing me as the BBC World Sports Star of the Year. I won the Treble last season, and we did fantastic," Haaland remarked.

In addition to winning numerous individual honors, Haaland was second in the poll for best player at the Ballon d'Or awards and took home the Gerd Muller Trophy for greatest goalscorer.
It took him just 48 games to reach the milestone, becoming him the fastest player to score 50 Premier League goals in November.
As City attempts to win the Premier League for an unprecedented fourth time in a row, he has scored 19 goals so far this season.
The World Cup-winning captain of Argentina, Lionel Messi, was named the 2022 World Sport Star.
