David Moyes, the manager of West Ham, bemoaned the "awful" defense while a gifted leveler from Palace

In the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace, David Moyes criticized West Ham for their "abysmal" defense.

Mohammed Kudus, a winger for Ghana, scored a beautiful goal to put the Hammers ahead, and they were on their way to a fifth consecutive victory across all competitions.

However, Konstantinos Mavropanos, the Greek defender for West Ham, gave a gift early in the second half when he made an absurd back pass without looking, allowing Odsonne Edouard to equalize.

The Hammers have only kept one clean sheet in the Premier League this season, which has again proved to be a costly mistake.

Additionally, it was their 16th goal conceded in the fifteen minutes following halftime this year."I'm aware of that," Hammers manager Moyes stated. However, it's not like we eat a pie at halftime and feel bad afterwards.

We had a solid early goal, but we struggled in the first half of the match. It was a difficult game for us. The Premier League match was close.

"You hope you can hold on when the games are close, but we thought it was awful to give up a goal the way we did.The main issue was probably that we needed to play better and that we weren't able to create enough personality or atmosphere in our performances.

"We seemed to be playing it safe; I would have preferred to take more chances and pass the ball to the forward players." However, Mo was outstanding and most likely the best player on the field. Today, his attacking was really good.

As West Ham looked for a late winner, Palace manager Roy Hodgson was relieved to see out a nerve-wracking finish.

"I was really happy with how we were defending and attacking for extended periods of time. It was a fair game," he remarked.

"You have to experience the nervous final moments, but it makes sense—we've just lost two games due to goals scored in the dying minutes.

"I could have done without those ten minutes, but I understood the team's anxiety and they showed a lot of resilience." The team's confidence would have suffered greatly if we had lost another game due to a late goal.
