Along with the driver, 40 pupils and four teachers were on the bus. Police said that the injured are receiving care at an Akluj hospital.

The pace stopped on a steep incline because one of its tires suffered a puncture. The catastrophic disaster was caused by a collision with the school bus as a result of this, according to senior inspector Diparatan Gaikwad of Akluj.

He continued, "The tempo was stationary on the roadside and not visible during the morning hours, which is why the accident occurred."

Ajit Pawar, the deputy chief minister and guardian minister for Pune district, posted condolences on X. "The bus accident that occurred in Bawda in the Indapur taluka when the group was on an educational excursion is really tragic. Sadly, the accident has claimed the life of a teacher. We are grieving with the family. The hospital management has received instructions on how to appropriately care for the injured students. I hope they recover quickly.
