Afua Asantewaa has received praise from Akwasi Agyeman, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), for her audacious attempt to smash the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the Longest Singing Marathon (Sing-A-Thon).

Mr. Agyeman, who approved the endeavor and supplied logistical support via the GTA, stated that everyone ought to support the endeavor since it would advance the nation.

"I believe that she is making a daring attempt to attempt to surpass the existing record of 105 hours, and as a tourism authority, we have firmly supported her because of the admirable and inspirational work that she is undertaking. Many young Ghanaians will be motivated to push themselves beyond their comfort zones by it, he stated on Wednesday during a news conference in Accra.

Additionally, it will greatly increase Ghana's visibility. People would learn about Ghana and look into opportunities to visit the nation," he emphasized.

An extremely driven Ghanaian woman named Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum planned to break the GWR for the Sing-A-Thon from December 23–28 at Akwaaba Village, which is close to Kotoka International Airport.

In just five days, she is anticipated to sing for 117 hours, surpassing the previous record of 105 hours held by Sunil Waghmare of India in 2012.

More than three thousand songs, each lasting no more than two minutes, must be performed by Afua Asantewaa. As part of her efforts to promote Ghanaian music, which includes gospel, highlife, hiplife, Afrobeats, and more, she would also perform only songs written in Ghanaian.

Mr. Agyeman claims that the action gives Ghanaians and the GTA a great chance to support and patronize one another.

He stated that the GTA had established Akwaaba Village as a place where people could come and enjoy refreshments, purchase food, clothing, and other Ghanaian items, all while using the occasion to promote the nation.

According to him, GTA is in favor of any creative endeavor that advances the nation, thus the idea of utilizing talent to advance Ghanaian music deserves support.

"We're going to use social media to spread the word about Ghana and make sure that everyone in the world knows about it after the attempt," he pledged.

"I am ready for the challenge and call on all Ghanaians to come on board to support," stated Afua Asantewaa. This is for the nation as a whole, not just for me, she said.

She requested everyone to pray for her as she embarks on her journey starting at daybreak on December 23 and thanked Ghanaians for their tremendous support thus far.
