27 suspected Land Guards Remanded Into Nsawam Prison.

An Accra Circuit Court has remanded 27 suspected land guards to two weeks in Nsawam Medium Security Prisons for their alleged involvement in illicit activities at Bortey Man in Accra.

The suspects each submitted a not guilty plea to two counts of conspiracy to commit the crime, namely, false communication and impeding acts of land guards.

The Prosecution stated that the complainant, Kenneth Brobbey, is a retiree according to the summary provided to the Court.

Whilst the accused persons are Adam Abdulla, (Excavator Operator), Abdul Ahmed, (mate), Abdulai Musah, (City Guard), Ali Musah, (businessman), Faisal Kassim, (farmer), Issah Mohammed, (Batcher), Sumala Amin, (footballer), Alhassan Osman, (Security man), Dawuda Namba, (businessman), Razak Yahaya, (Butcher) and Musah Ibrahim, (driver).

The others are Yusif Musah, a football player, Ibrahim Adamu, a painter,

Muniru Yusif, Muda Haref, Willaim Addo, Razak Abdul Raman, Yakubu Saheed, and Bashiru Issa are all businessmen. Muda Haref is also a motorcycle mechanic.

The remaining individuals are Mustapha, Wahab Moro, Maxwell Kuma, Mohammed Samdeen, Yaw Anthony alias Dogman, Wazil Mohammed, and Wahab Moro.

According to the prosecution, suspect Benefor Kofi Ben Asamoah of Asamoah Properties demanded and obtained $350,000 from the plaintiff in 2021 under the guise of selling him three “3” acres of land in East Legon close to Trassacco.

It is claimed that the suspect asked the complainant to wait after receiving the money because he was eager to start the development process.

According to the prosecution, the complainant was phoned on August 9, 2023, by defendant Benefor Asamoah after receiving multiple requests to enter the property.

According to the complaint, the complainant and his agent (Eric Ansah) went to the property to grade and demarcate the area, where they encountered the accused individuals while also defending the bulldozer operators and their companions.

Top-kings and Trassacco representatives who were fighting on the land called the police to report the activities on the land while the complainant was at the site watching the grading.

According to the report, police patrol teams from the regional headquarters in Accra arrived on the scene quickly and took the accused into custody.

According to the preliminary findings of the investigation, suspect Benefor Kofi Ben Asamoah hired the services of the accused, who were directed by Muda Haref.

The suspect, Benefor Kofi Ben Asamoah, who is currently (at large), invited victim Kenneth Brobbey to come and watch the grading of the land he had allegedly sold to him, according to a later investigation.

“The accused were presented to the court with a temporary charge while efforts were being made to have Benefor Kofi Ben Asamoah arrested for questioning.

They were arrested on August 9, 2023, after they allegedly participated in land guard activities.

Although their attorneys asked the court to release them on bail, His Honour Samuel Bright Acquah instead ordered the defendants into detention for two weeks.

They are set to reappear in court on August 27.
