The nurse conveyed that, despite their diligent efforts, there has been no adjustment to their salaries. She emphasized that if the government fails to address this issue, a considerable number of nurses might choose to relocate abroad by the end of 2023.

Furthermore, she pointed out that such a scenario could potentially lead to a deficit of nurses, leaving hospitals with a workforce primarily consisting of less-experienced healthcare personnel to attend to the medical needs of patients.

This concern arises in the wake of reports indicating a growing trend of nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals departing Ghana to pursue better opportunities in foreign countries.
