The most recent celebrity to visit Chef Failatu Abdul Razak, a Ghanaian woman attempting to shatter the current Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon—also referred to as a cook-a-thon—is Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Excitement was high at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, Northern Region, the location of the cook-a-thon attempt, following Dr. Bawumia's arrival on Saturday, January 6, 2024.

As soon as the vice president—who also serves as the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP)—arrived at the cook-a-thon location, a large crowd of Ghanaians gathered there surrounded him.

His group succeeded in devising a way for him to go to Chef Faila's closed-off kitchen.

The vice president's visit seems to have surprised the Ghanaian chef, who was seen nodding enthusiastically and receiving encouragement from Dr. Bawumia.

Following his conversation with Failatu, Dr. Bawumia engaged in conversation with the assembly prior to addressing the press.

Along with other Ghanaians who have recently tried to break records in the Guinness Book of Records, he congratulated the chef.

He went on to say that Ghana is now in a position to capitalize on its tourist potential and has gained international recognition thanks to the efforts of Chef Faila and the other Ghanaians.

Vice President Bawumia was likewise thrilled to sample Chef Faila's delectable dishes.

Along with him were prominent members of the NPP, like as Kwabena Agyapong, the party's former general secretary, and National Chairman Stephen Ntim.

It is presently the sixth day that Chef Failatu Abdul Razak has been working constantly at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale.

In addition to surpassing Alan Fisher's (Ireland) record of 119 hours and 57 minutes for the longest cooking marathon, she has successfully broken her goal of 120 hours.
