Former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen is reportedly contemplating the decision to withdraw from the upcoming Presidential Primary on November 4. This comes after a disappointing performance in the recent Super Delegates Conference, according to a source close to the Alan Campaign.
During the NPP Special Delegates Conference, Alan Kyerematen secured 95 out of 961 votes, putting him in a distant third place. Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerged as the frontrunner with 629 votes (68.15%), while surprisingly, Kennedy Agyapong garnered 132 votes (14.30%) to secure second place.
Given the expectations for Alan Kyerematen, who has run for the position of flagbearer three times before, his placement behind Dr. Bawumia and even surrendering the second position to Kennedy Agyapong has disrupted the former Trade Minister’s campaign strategy.

“We have had extensive review of the Super Delegates election, and to be honest, the numbers we registered across the country in the Super Delegates, were not what we expected,” the source said.
“Even though we have publicly expressed our displeasure with the process, the reality is that things are not so good on the ground, and we have to honestly admit and take bold decisions.”
