Following the Monday, January 1, 2024, earthquake, Ghanaians living in Japan are turning to prayer for support.

At least 48 people lost their lives when numerous buildings collapsed as a result of the tsunami that was caused by the seismic activity.

Journalist Nana Yaw Pop of Adom FM's partner station JafriQ Radio provided insights into the dire situation during an interview on Dwaso Nsem.

He underlined the urgent necessity for rescue efforts, describing it as a “race against time” to save survivors.

By stating that he had been able to get in touch with a number of Ghanaians in the impacted area and ensure that they were safe and in excellent shape, Nana Yaw Pop gave comfort.

In a public appeal, Nana Yaw asked everyone to remember Japan in their prayers at this difficult time.

He underlined how crucial it is to see this as a global humanitarian crisis, despite country boundaries, as search and rescue crews toil nonstop to find people they think are trapped under the rubble.
