Miss Jayne goes home on Saturday, Nov. 4

Come Saturday, November 4, 2023, the inky fraternity, players in the creative industry, family, friends and sympathisers will come together to bid farewell to Jayne Buckman- Owoo at the St Theresa Parish, Kaneshie, near the Awudome Roundabout.

The late Jayne Buckman-Owoo, a Staff Writer at Graphic Showbiz of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), passed on Friday, August 18, 2023, after a short illness. She was 49.

The day will start with a filing past of the remains of the late Jayne Buckman-Owoo’s at the St Theresa Parish at 7:30 am followed by the funeral mass at the same venue at 8:30 am. The mass will be followed with a private burial.

There will be a gathering at the St Theresa School at North Kaneshie after the church service.

On Sunday, November 5, a thanksgiving service will be held at St Theresa Parish at 9:30 am for family and friends to come together to express gratitude for the cherished memories and enduring legacy of Miss Jayne.

Miss Jayne as Jayne Buckman-Owoo was affectionately known dedicated her life to the creative sector. For over two decades, she played an instrumental role in Graphic Showbiz, where she wrote compelling stories, covered prestigious events, and profiled numerous celebrities in Ghana.

Some of the stars she profiled include Nana Ama McBrown, Jackie Appiah, John Dumelo, Majid Michel, Prince David Osei, Shatta Wale, Lucky Mensah, Reggie Rockstone, Okyeame Kwame, Praye, Kwaade, among a host of entertainment personalities and the creative sector in general.

She was also a popular face on television who hosted popular programmes such as Viewers Choice on TV Africa and on the silver screen featured in movies including Unfinished Business, Wedlock, Who Killed Okomfo Anokye, When Night Falls and A Call at Midnight.

In 2021, Ms Jayne received well-deserved recognition for her exceptional leadership in the creative arts sector. The Golden Age Creative Arts Awards (GACAA) honoured her for her contributions and presented her with a citation celebrating her remarkable impact on the creative industry.
