The whole Basic Schools academic schedule for 2023–2024 is provided here.

First Term

Schools will resume on 3rd October, 2023 and end on 22nd December, 2024. Students will then go on break from 23rd December, 2023 to 8th January, 2024.

Second Term

Second term will resume on 9th January, 2024 and end on 11th April, 2024. Students will then go on break from 12th April, 2024 to 29th April, 2024.

Third Term

The third term will start on 30th April, 2024 and end on 25th July, 2024. JHS 3 students are expected to write their BECE in July, 2024.

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS (SHS)

Senior high schools in Ghana are divided into two categories, as you are already aware: single track schools and transitional/double track schools. These schools have various vacation schedules and reporting requirements.

Let’s take a look at the term 2 or second Semester reopening date for SHS.

Currently, the first semester for all senior high schools in the 2023/2024 academic year will end in March, 2024. SHS 2 students in double track schools will resume their first semester on 8th March, 2024.

All single track schools (all levels) will end their first semester in March, 2024.

The Ghana Education Service has advised SHS 3 students, who are currently preparing to write their WASSCE to study. According to him, the 2024 WASSCE is likely to be written early.

Examining previous questions is what candidates should do. The WAEC doesn't actually create new questions, which is a mystery that most candidates are unaware of when taking the WASSCE. Ninety percent of the WASSCE questions come from previous exams. Although the question is outdated, WAEC typically frames it to seem fresh.

Your knowledge and comprehension will grow as a result of continuous reading, planning, and searching for more resources on the topic. This will also enhance and distinguish your responses. Reduce your reliance on your tutor by taking greater responsibility for yourself and learning more. Almost all of the knowledge you possess today can be found online.
