The Dagbon Traditional Area’s Overlord, Ya Naa Abubakari Mahama II, has advised Dr. Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer and Vice President, to see his opponent, former President John Dramani Mahama, as a brother and a son of Dagbon. Ya Naa Abubakari Mahama II made this remark when Dr. Bawumia paid him a visit and stressed the need for peace and unity in the nation, irrespective of political differences. Ya Naa Abubakari Mahama II said that both Dr. Bawumia and Mr. Mahama have the same vision for the country’s growth and should demonstrate their maturity, competence, honesty, and dedication to Ghana’s progress. “You are my son, Dr. Bawumia, and so is John Mahama, your competitor. He is not your enemy or rival, but your brother, your elder brother,” Ya Naa Abubakari Mahama II said.
