Young Nhyira wins Miss Tourism Ghana 2022

Christabel Nhyira Agyepong, 21, a third-year public relations student at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), has been crowned Miss Tourism Ghana 2022.




On Friday, September 2, at the National Theatre, sixteen (16) contestants representing each region of the country demonstrated their intelligence, talent, and love of Ghanaian culture and tradition.

After nearly four hours of intense competition, Nhyira was declared the winner, with Wendy Mwinsun Wanye, a 23-year-old Textile Design Technology graduate of Sunyani Technical University from Ghana's Upper West Region, emerging as First Princess.

Yaa Boatemaa Abbey of the Oti Region, a graduate of Agricultural Technology who specialized in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology at the University of Development Studies, UDS, was also crowned Second Princess.

The three winners, who outwitted the other thirteen (13) contestants, thanked the organizers for putting on such a show to increase interest in tourism.


They also pledged to support the country's agenda of promoting Ghana locally and globally.

At the event, Ghana Tourism Authority CEO Akwesi Agyemang, traditional leaders, and Members of Parliament, among others, attended.

Mrs.Delphine Brew-Hammond, the scheme's founder, expressed her gratitude to all of the sponsors and volunteers who helped make the event a success.

She congratulated the winners and other contestants on their commitment to promoting Ghana.
