Validation procedures have revealed that 60% of consumers of the defunct gold trading company Menzgold are ineligible for payment.
According to the company, the claims submitted by this number following a call on July 30, 2023 were riddled with flaws.
This information was included in a statement released by the chief executive officer (CEO), Nana Appiah Mensah, also known as NAM1.
According to Menzgold, the defects included, among others, irregularities or inconsistencies in the records on the face of the documents, fake (fraudulent) supporting documents, and fake authorized signatures.
The affected consumers, however, have until September 14 to cross-check and correct their records.
The company has indicated that payment to entirely validated customers will begin on October 20, 2023.
"We urge confident Customers to obtain a 'Menzgold Traders Transactions Status Verification Access Card' from Payboy Company Limited and/or any of its underlisted agents in exchange for a Personal Identification Number (PIN), which will be used to digitally verify transaction claim eligibility or otherwise," the statement stated.
