7 Signs That God Is Angry With You.

Wed, 5 Oct 2022 Source: Nana Kay News

"Are you worried that you have angered God? Or do you want to confirm whether he is angry with you? This might be a disturbing thought and should be addressed urgently. The last thing you want is to be outside the God Realm.”

What makes God angry?

Before confirming whether or not God is angry with you, let us first find out what makes Him angry. What can a person do to anger a loving God?

Sin angers God. He gets upset when his people disobey his orders and chooses to live outside his will. When people do evil and evil in front of him, he grieves.

Genesis 6:5-6 reveals, "The Lord has seen how evil the human race is on earth, and that every inclination in the thoughts of man's heart has been evil all along. And the Lord lamented that he had put people on earth, and his heart was very troubled."

In these verses of Genesis, it was the evil of the human race that made God regret that He had created them. Because of this, he sent the Great Flood and destroyed everything, except for those in Noah's Ark.

If you study the Bible, you will learn about the various sins that God hates. Gaining this knowledge will help you avoid angering the Lord.

Signs of God's wrath

If you think you have done something wrong - or you are not sure - and want to know if God is angry with you, you can check the following signs.

1. God is silent.

Have your quiet times dried up lately? Quiet time is the moment you spend with God, and it includes reading His Word, praying, and worshiping Him. If you haven't been enjoying quiet times lately—because you seem to get nothing from what you read in the Bible and your prayer time is dry—maybe God chooses to be quiet.

If God is silent about you, there may be a sin that is causing the gulf between you and the Lord. He hates sin, and he is not satisfied with a person who consciously sins against him.

2. You don't feel guilty about your sin.

If you are a true believer, then the Holy Spirit is in you. It helps you distinguish between right and wrong before the Lord. It warns you whenever there is temptation or danger. It is repentance whenever you make a mistake.

The Christian with a hard heart toward sin has turned his back on God. If you don't feel guilty for something that you know is wrong, God must be angry with you because you chose to sin rather than obey Him.

3. You still stumble upon Bible verses that call for repentance.

Have you come across verses about repentance recently? If you get it wrong on purpose, this is really yours. It could be a warning about God's wrath. He may get angry, but he is still merciful. So it is not surprising that it gives you a chance to repent and return to Him.

2 Peter 3:9.

4. You are humiliated.

If pride is the sin that keeps you away from God, expect Him to do something about it. The Lord despises the arrogant and glorifies the humble. Don't be surprised if you are allowed to feel embarrassed in front of others because you act proud. He will not tolerate pride.

James 4:6 says,

5. You are facing the consequences of your sin.

Since God hates sins, do not expect Him to protect you from their consequences. He may be loving and merciful, but he is also. He will let you reap what you sow. If you sow corruption, lies and deceit, then one day the truth will prevail, and it will answer you from their deceit. If you engage in indecency, don't be shocked if you have to deal with shame and pain later.

No matter how God expresses His anger, He allows you to face the consequences of your sins because He wants you to repent. Just like a loving father, he wants you to be corrected and disciplined.

6. Your heart is full of resentment:

Joy and perfection are in God’s presence. Therefore, if your heart is currently poisoned by hatred, jealousy, and bitterness, it is likely that the presence of the Lord has left you. However, if", "The Holy Spirit is in you, it will help you overcome your resentment towards others. So, if you feel comfortable now dealing with others, you are on your own.

It is also possible that the resentment you hold onto is the cause of God's wrath. Christ commanded his followers to love their neighbors (Matthew 22:37-39), even their enemies (Matthew 5:43-45). So holding on to abuse and being ruthless is a sin. God will not forgive you until you forgive others (Matthew 6:14-15).

8. Your prayers are not answered.

Don't expect him to kindly hear your prayers if you continue to anger God with persistent and unacknowledged sins. It will turn deaf ears. The Bible tells us that prayer will only be effective if it is performed by the righteous.

Note: Repent while there is time:

If these signs confirm that God is really angry with you, don't waste time. Instead, he decided to repent and turn away from any sin that did not please the Lord. He is generous, and he will not forgive you unless you humble yourself and turn back to Him.
