A 15-Year-Old Girl Who Fight Her Teacher In Front Of Her Class Is Sentenced To One Year In Prison

The 15-year-old pupil who assaulted her teacher in front of the entire class has been sentenced to one year in a juvenile detention facility.

The teenager, whose identity has not been made public, viciously assaulted British literature teacher Tiwana Turner at Heritage High School in Conyers, Georgia in January 2023 (read here). In January 2023, video footage of the incident was widely shared on social media.

In the online video, the student can be seen shouting in Turner's face and slapping her mobile phone out of her hands before the teacher attempted to call for assistance as she exited the classroom.

As a result of Turner preventing the adolescent from closing the door on her, a scuffle ensues, and the student grabs her teacher by the hair and pulls her to the ground. As students took out their cell phones to record, she continued to take several strikes at Turner as the scuffle continued.

The attack fractured the teacher's leg, and she had to be carried out of the school on a stretcher.

A 15-year-old pupil who assaulted her teacher in front of the class is sentenced to one year in prison.

The student pleaded guilty to felony assault, according to FOX 5 Atlanta, and after serving her one-year sentence, she will spend five years in a supervised release program, according to the assistant district attorney for Rockdale County.

Turner reports that three months after the incident, she is still unable to walk without crutches and has been unable to return to work.

Turner recalled the assault to FOX5 Atlanta by stating, "She just went off and pulled me to the floor." "I was hospitalized for six days, and the numbness was present the entire time. I am unable to go to work and cannot see my students. I am no longer able to perform any of my former activities. I am unable to travel.
