After Ramadan, Muslims Were Urged To Uphold The Tenets Of Islam

The Muslim Community in Ghana has been exhorted to uphold the tenets of Islam and to continue exhibiting the beautiful moral character displayed during the recently concluded Ramadan fast.

The period is marked by intense prayers and sacrifices, and the Muslim community is required to abstain from food and water from sunrise to sunset.

In a statement seen by THE CUSTODIAN to commemorate Eid-ul-Fitr, the Kekeli Muslim Community stated that the month of Ramadan is a time for Muslims to reflect and then submit their entire lives to the worship of the only Almighty God.

Mohammed Rabiu Adam Mawuli, the group's Public Relations Officer, prayed for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

"We continue to appeal to the Almighty God (Allah) to grant us peace in Ghana and to grant the President and his Vice President the wisdom to steer the country's affairs toward development. We pray for peaceful coexistence between Muslims and other faiths in this country, as we construct a prosperous nation together."

He noted that as we approach the end of Ramadan, the leadership of the Kekeli Muslim Community in Ghana is urging all Muslims to continue to exhibit the magnificent moral character they adopted during the month of fasting for the remainder of their lives.

He also noted that fasting during Ramadan allows individuals to distance themselves from unacceptable behaviors such as smoking, drinking alcohol, and engaging in promiscuous intimate relationships, among others, adding, "Instead, giving in charity to the needy who manifest during sahoor and iftar, and making supplications to Allah for expiation of sins are highly encouraged."

In the meantime, the organization has also solicited support to enable new Muslims in the Volta Region to celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr festival. The group asserts that the Islamic religion is expanding and gaining influence in the Volta Region.

"Furthermore, we take this occasion to solicit support for a successful Eid Feast for our recent converts, primarily in the Volta Region. In the Volta Region, Islam is acquiring significant ground. "Therefore, benevolent gestures should be directed to the leadership to ensure proper distribution to the beneficiaries," he stressed.
