Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, the leader of the minority caucus, has announced that the entire minority caucus will accompany James Gyakye Quayson throughout all court proceedings.
He announced this in parliament, stating, "I wish to inform you that the entire minority group will accompany our colleague to court today and any other day he is scheduled to appear in court."
Each time Gyakye Quayson is required to appear in court, Dr. Forson reaffirmed the group's willingness to abstain from all parliamentary business in support of their colleague.
"We will not participate in house business while our colleague is in court, and we will leave the chamber after this ceremony if the court proceedings occur today," he explained.
The newly sworn-in member of parliament for the Assin North constituency who faces perjury and deceiving a public official charges has recently filed an appeal with the Court of Appeal challenging the daily trial order issued by High Court judge Mary Yanzuh.
