Arise Analyst, Kayode Otitoju has said that the presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar cannot remove the current Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Iyorchia Ayu because he is not yet the president of Nigeria.
Kayode Otitoju said this while speaking on Arise News on Monday.
Recall that Governor Nyesom Wike and his fellow G-5 Governors have been pushing for the removal of Iyorchia Ayu as the party's Chairman. However, Atiku Abubakar seems unwilling to grant that request to bring peace and normalcy to the party.
Speaking on why Atiku Abubakar is yet to do anything about removing Iyorchia Ayu, Kayode Otitoju said that Nigeria is at pre-election stage, adding that Atiku Abubakar cannot do anything about it because he has no such power. He further said that if Atiku Abubakar eventually becomes President, he will then have the power to do so.
According to him, the moment Atiku wins the forthcoming presidential election and becomes president, he becomes the number one citizen of Nigeria as well as the leader of the People's Democratic Party, then he can do many things.
Kayode Otitoju added that if any of the three contenders wins the election, Nigerians are lucky. According to him, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar of the People's Democratic Party and Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress are all good and can lead the country to the promise land.
