Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, a North Tongu member of parliament, has criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for not abolishing the Covid-19 Levy despite the removal of all Covid limitations.

The COVID Health Recovery Levy, which was put in place to assist close certain budget gaps, "might not be the most popular tax, but I implore all of you to bear with us," he added.

"Let me make it clear that COVID expenditures, largely unplanned, have been subject to audit by the Auditor-General at my instigation, and are going through parliamentary processes," he continued.  We all deserve to be reassured that the crisis was not used as a cover for corrupt practices.”
