George Alex Mensah, the Director General of Operations for the Ghana Police Service, has been interdicted.
According to reports, he was informed of his prohibition via wireless communication.
Due to his participation in the disclosed audio recording about the current Inspector General of Police (IGP), this decision was made.
Mr. Alex Mensah, a Commissioner of Police (COP), has already testified before a committee established by the Speaker of Parliament to investigate, among other things, the authenticity of the audio recording.
COP Alex Mensah, who claims 31 years of military service, has contested portions of the tape as being edited.
He told the Atta Akyea Committee that Dr. George Akuffo Dampare is the worst IGP Ghana has ever had in his 31 years of service.
Even though he is on leave pending his retirement from the Service, the former Regional Commander of Accra must turn over all of his police equipment, including his authority insignia, to the proper authorities.
"Please be advised that you are interdicted with immediate effect as a result of your participation in the leaked tape being investigated by Parliament,"
