Safina Mohammed Adzizatu, who is on trial for the alleged murder of her Canadian lover Frank Kofi Osei, underwent DNA testing successfully.
A representative of the Attorney General's Office informed the Adentan District Court that the Police are awaiting the DNA report, which is expected to be completed in two weeks.
Receiving the DNA report would pave the path for district court committal proceedings.
After the committal proceedings, Safina and her accomplice Michael Fiifi Ampofo Arku are anticipated to appear before an Accra High Court, where the actual trial would begin.
Safina, a freshman at the University of Ghana, Legon, and Arku, a Technical Officer, have been charged with the conspiracy and murder of Canadian tourist Frank Kofi Osei.
The district court has preserved their claims.
In July 2022, while visiting Safina, Frank Kofi Osei was allegedly assassinated in cold blood at Ashalley Botwe School Junction in Accra.
Safina and Arku were detained on suspicion of murder involvement.
The two defendants out on parole are scheduled to reappear on July 11.
