Joe Ghartey, member of parliament for the Essikado Ketan constituency, has filed his nomination papers for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.

On Saturday, June 24, he submitted the documents he obtained on Thursday, June 1 at the party's headquarters, which was the deadline for all candidates.

After submitting his paperwork and addressing his supporters, the former attorney general expressed confidence that he will be among the final five candidates after the Special Congress on August 26.

He stated that being the last to file is actually a positive sign, corroborating the ancient proverb, "The first shall be the last, and the last shall be the first."

He promised, "We will take this nation to the next level."

By God's grace, everything my hand has touched has been blessed.

When we filed, we were informed that we were the last to do so. Then, I reminded them of the proverb, "The first shall be last and the last shall be first."

Bawumia lauds the contribution of the grassroots to the NPP's triumph.

The former Minister of Railways Development launched a campaign that he claims will bring him to the doorsteps of delegates.

He stated that his campaign will not feature him in vehicles with blaring music, but rather he will walk to the 900 voters who will choose the final five candidates for the November 4 elections.

"The name of our campaign is Walking and Talking – Walkie Talkie...we will not make noise in this country."

He was certain to be among the top five after August 26.

"When we vote for the Special Delegates Congress, Joe Ghartey will be among the top five, God willing," the speaker said.

Nine candidates have filed to compete in the primaries. Monday, July 3 is anticipated to be the first day of screening.
