Ex-President Mahama Owes an Apology for Insulting Trolley Drivers and Station Masters - Abronye

Thu, 20 Apr 2023 Source: Island Reporters

Mr. Kwame Baffoe Abronye, the Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Bono, wants Former President John Dramani Mahama to apologize unreservedly to the hardworking Transport Industry Players, particularly the Trotro drivers, loading boys, and station managers, for claiming that they know nothing.

On a recent campaign tour in the Eastern Region, John Dramani Mahama, a former president of the country and a candidate for the NDC's presidential nomination, referred to the NPP as ignorant station boys.

Former President John Mahama stated, in his own terms, that. "They said they have the men, so the people of Ghana tried them by voting for them, they said they should try them, and that was the mistake the people of Ghana made, because after all the "we have the men" rhetoric, it turned out to be station boys who know nothing,"

The statement did not sit well with the regional chairman of Bono, Kwame Baffoe Abronye, who stated that the former president's statement should be viewed as an insult to the source of income for Trolley Drivers and station administrators.

However, he demanded that the former president apologize unreservedly to them and the Ghanaian people.

In response to President Mahama's statement, Kwame Baffoe Abronye stated in a Facebook post that the former president and the NDC are accustomed to attacking innocent groups that do not support their cause.

Further, he emphasized that President Mahama should have used the platform he had to propose an alternative solution to the challenges facing the country as a result of global issues, if he has any, instead of implicitly insulting the innocent Trotro drivers and station masters.

According to him, "John Mahama cannot insult our hardworking Trolley Drivers and station Boys and escape punishment."

Kwame Baffoe Abronye remarked, "It was very uncultured, disrespectful, balderdash, and arrogant for the incompetent, corrupt John Dramani Mahama to insult the hardworking Trotro drivers and Station boys by saying, "They don't know anything"; in fact, he referred to them as a group of empty-headed individuals."

Below is their complete Facebook post:

JM owes Our Trotro chauffeurs and Station Boys an apology.

John Mahama cannot insult our hardworking limo drivers and station attendants and escape punishment.

The incompetent, corrupt John Dramani Mahama's insult of our tireless Trotro drivers and Station boys by stating that "they don't know anything" and describing them as "empty-headed" is extremely uncultured, disrespectful, and arrogant. In his Eastern Regional tour, the incompetent and corrupt Mahama referred to and described the Akufo- Addo appointees as "Trotro Drivers" and "Station boys"

I will characterize this behavior as very poor on his part. This statement is a warning to the Ghanaian electorate that this so-called "John Mahama" is the same individual we have known in the past. If someone seeking power is insulting trotro drivers and Station boys as "knowing nothing," then we have reason to question what he would say to the entire electorate if he is elected, should you complain about something.

Without these trotro drivers and Station boys, our national output would have been significantly lower. Without our trotro chauffeurs, it would have been extremely challenging for our courageous public and private employees to engage in their daily activities. Our trotro chauffeurs are assisting the Ghanaian government in constructing our nation. I must state that it is important for the incompetent Mahama to realize that some of these trotro drivers are graduates who are more qualified than he is if they had chosen a different profession. Therefore, it is unwarranted and absurd for the incompetent Mahama to compare Akufo Addo appointees to "trotro drivers" and "Station boys" in the sense that they lack the common sense to be in command.

All Akufo Addo appointees are more competent than John mahama, this is an undeniable fact. John Mahama should acknowledge that he still has a hand in the country's current economic situation for the following reasons:

(1) The high prices of products and services in the country are the result of John Dramani Mahama's 2014 sale of the Tema Port and Harbour to his friend, the French businessman Vincent Ballore. Remember that when the government of Akuffo Addo attempted to cancel the contract, John Mahama's friend demanded a staggering 21 billion dollars from the government. However, "Do we have that much money as a country?" Consequently, this businessman will control our harbors for the next 35 years.

(2) Doubtful power purchase agreements under the administration of John Mahama, the termination of which would cost the government close to $55 billion.

(3) internal and external financing with high interest rates under the administration of John Mahama, with some of these loans having a 10- to 20-year repayment period.

(4) The formidable Covid-19 has also had a devastating impact on the global economy.

In this situation, the incompetent John Mahama must acknowledge that Akufo Addo and his appointees did not originate or cause the aforementioned issues. PaFAG will hold a press conference in the future weeks or days to expose John Mahama's dubious role in the sale of Tema Port.
