Ghana has presented the Ratified Instrument of the African Union Convention on Cross-Border Cooperation to the African Union Commission at a ceremony at the African Union Commission Headquarters at Addis Ababa on Monday 4 September.

Ghana is the eighth nation to ratify the Convention, having signed the Convention's agreement on 4 July 2017. The agreement was ratified by the Ghanaian Parliament on February 9, 2023.

The National Coordinator of Ghana Boundary Commission, Major General Emmanuel Kotia, stated on behalf of Ghana at the African Union Commission that Ghana had now fulfilled its obligation by depositing the instrument of the ratified Convention signed by the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on 25 April 2023.

In the presence of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ghana Embassy in Ethiopia, Dr. Guy Fleury-Ntawari, Director, Legal Counsel, African Union Commission, received the document.
