David Adeleke, also known as Davido, an Afrobeats superstar, has revealed his struggles following the demise of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
Davido revealed in a recent interview what led to the publication of the 'Timeless' album despite the passing of his son.
The DMW boss said that many people expected sad songs on his album, but he gave them "bangers" instead, adding that he still laments his son and cries every morning over it, despite having gotten through the dark period following his son's death.
He said, "I miss him every day; every morning there are tears in my eyes, but you don't have to see it."
"When I look at myself in the mirror, I realize that it is not all about me; I am aware of how many people adore me and depend on me.
"My son is gazing down at me from above. In addition to my primary responsibility to be strong for his mother, I must also be strong for the world.
"Many people believed the album would contain only sad music, but we gave them hit after hit.
"My son is dancing, and so is my mother in heaven." God alone enables people to realize that it is possible to stand and function again.
"These were among the things on which my wife and I relied; God is real." Then, everything returned to normal, we performed better, and business has improved.
