It’s part of that marketing strategy to play with our minds – Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo on Black Sherif’s satanic sign at recent concert

During a recent performance at the Palladium Theatre in New York, Black Sherif's contentious Baphomet sign was discussed by entertainment business analyst and journalist Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo.

The renowned analyst argued that Black Sherif's usage of the insignia may be viewed as a marketing ploy rather than a representation of his true allegiance during a debate on UTV.

"That sign has its meaning and its history, so if I see it on your person or your vehicle, I have every right to interpret it as I see fit based on the available evidence." The Baphomet sign stage is associated with the Satanic religion, he said.

While some people may associate the "Baphomet" image with satanism, Arnold stressed the need of comprehending the context of show business and the tactics employed by artists to create buzz around their craft.

“Let’s understand that the sign is associated with the satanic church. Let’s understand that this is show biz and one of the critical elements in this game is marketing,” he underscored.

Arnold highlighted that in the world of show business, generating conversation and sparking curiosity is a crucial element of successful marketing.

He referenced other renowned artists like JayZ, Beyonce, Rihanna, and even Ghana’s own Sarkodie, who have all been linked to conspiracy theories surrounding secret societies.

“Artistes such as Kanye West JayZ, Beyonce, Rihanna, and our very own Sarkodie have been linked to being a part of the Illuminati, this has been a conspiracy theory over the years and these artistes thrive on generating conversation to market their craft. They’re smart to play with these rumours,” he shared

In a recent performance at the Palladium Theatre in New York, Black Sherif, the reigning Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year, found himself making headlines for unexpected reasons.

Black Sherif’s performance at the Palladium Theatre will go down as one of the extraordinary events of the year. With a seating capacity of 2,100, the venue was packed with enthusiastic fans who were treated to a night they would never forget.

However, during his captivating set, fans were taken aback when Black Sherif projected the symbol of ‘Baphomet’ on stage, leading to widespread confusion and speculation.

The appearance of the ‘Baphomet’ symbol immediately set social media ablaze, with netizens expressing their thoughts and concerns about the artiste’s stagecraft.

Many began questioning whether Black Sherif’s involvement with the symbol hinted at his affiliation with a secret society.

However, the ‘Kweku Frimpong’ who also has a similar tattoo on his arm on several occasions has indicated that it is an image of a mountain goat which represents perseverance.

As the conversation surrounding Black Sherif’s use of the ‘Baphomet’ symbol continues, industry insiders and pundits including Arnold have indicated that they hope it is just a strategic tactic to generate buzz and create intrigue around their work while leveraging controversy and curiosity to their advantage.

“Let’s perceive it as a marketing ploy to play with our minds because there has been no basis to connect even Beyonce and co to the Church of Satan or the Illuminati, it’s just artistes playing with our mind,” he added.
