Joseph Langabel says jealousy pushed him out of Black Stars’ camp

Joseph Langabel, the former Black Stars chief drummer, has revealed the cause for his departure from the senior men's national soccer team.

According to him, rumors that he acted as a pimp for some Black Star players and was involved in illicit drug activity are untrue.

He claimed that he was forced out of Ghana football due to the jealously of certain individuals, including the current president Kurt Okraku, who accused him of traveling with drugs.

"During Kwasi Nyantakyi's 13-year administration, did you see anyone arrest Langabel at the airport?" he inquired.

He stated that envy arose because these individuals believed that Kwasi Nyantakyi, the former president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), was giving him all the support.

He dared anyone who heard a player say he was pimping females for them to come forward.

"This is why I say that if you are envious, you will be quenched. These individuals do not comprehend why I use the phrase "if you're jealous, go quench it."

"Observers are concerned, but believers will rejoice, because if you are envious of someone, those who are not envious of that person will scoff at you. Finally, they will go sit with the same individual you are speaking with and enjoy themselves. You will be alone there."

He expressed optimism that another administration will require his services for the Black Stars in the future.

He characterized the Nyantakyi administration as the best in Ghana football's history.

According to him, no administration can surpass Mr. Nyantakyi's accomplishments, who resigned in 2018 after a scandal uncovered by the renowned investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas ended his tenure.
