KNUST Nurses Top-Up Admissions Are Now Available - Apply Here

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has opened the BSc admissions portal to all candidates who meet the required qualifications. Department of Nursing, College of Health Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi.

According to the university, Diploma upgrade Programmes are now THREE-YEAR BSc Programmes. In addition, certificate holders are strongly encouraged to register for BSc programmes at the same Centres that previously offered Diploma programmes. All Bachelor of Science (BSc) programs for Diploma holders have been shortened by TWO (2) YEARS.

Emergency Nursing Entry Requirements for BSc Top-Up (Regular) Programmes

Holders of a Diploma in Nursing with a passing grade, a minimum of TWO (2) years of work experience, and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana or another nursing and midwifery regulatory body. Such applicants will also be required to meet the University's general admission requirements for Diploma holders to degree programs.

B.S. in Nursing

Diploma in Nursing with a passing grade and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana or another nursing and midwifery regulatory body. Such applicants will also be required to meet the University's general admission requirements for Diploma holders to degree programs.

BSc. Midwifery

Possessors of the Midwifery Diploma with a passing grade and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana or any other nursing and midwifery regulatory body. Such applicants will also be required to meet the University's general admission requirements for Diploma holders to degree programs.

Requirements for Admission to BSc Top-Up (Sandwich) Programmes

Midwifery (Top-Up Sandwich Programme for Diploma Holders) – Two (2) Years (Diploma Top-Up) B.Sc.

Applicants must possess a Diploma in Midwifery and be duly registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana or another nursing and midwifery regulatory organization. These applicants will also be required to meet the University's general admission requirements for degree programs.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Top-Up Sandwich Programme for Diploma Holders) – Two (2) Years (Diploma Top-Up).

Applicants must hold an enrolled General Nursing Diploma and be duly enrolled with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana or another recognized nursing and midwifery regulatory organization. These candidates will also be required to meet the University's general admission requirements for Diploma holders to degree programs.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Top-Up Sandwich Programme for Certificate Holders) – Three (3) Years (Certificate Top-Up).

Applicants must be certified clinical nurse auxiliaries who are duly registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana or another recognized nursing and midwifery regulatory body. Such applicants will also be required to meet the University's general admission requirements for certificate holders to degree programs.

Bachelor of Science in Public Health Nursing (Top-Up Sandwich Programme for Diploma Holders) – Two (2) Years (Diploma Top-Up).

Applicants must possess a diploma in Public Health Nursing or Community Health Nursing and be duly registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana or another recognized nursing and midwifery regulatory organization. Such applicants must meet the University's General Admissions Requirements for diploma-granting degree programs.

Bachelor of Science in Public Health Nursing (Top-Up Sandwich Programme for Certificate Holders) – Three (3) Years (Certificate Top-Up).

Applicants must be in possession of a Nurse Assistant Preventive (NAP)/certificate in Community Health Nursing, and must be duly enrolled with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana or another recognized nursing and midwifery regulatory body. Such applicants will also be required to meet the University's general admission requirements for certificate holders to degree programs.

Method of Utilization

Applicants are required to acquire an e-Voucher from Ghana Post Company Ltd.

The e-Voucher includes a Login ID or Application ID, as well as a PIN, which grants access to the online admission portal.

Then, applicants should visit the admissions website at apps.knust.edu.gh/admissions to begin the application procedure.

Candidates must print TWO (2) copies of the completed Application Form and submit them to the Deputy Registrar (Academic Affairs), KNUST, along with all pertinent documents (photocopies of certificates and transcripts).

Fee for Application: GH 250.00

The submission deadline for Application Forms is Thursday, June 15, 2023.
