Martin Kpebu, a private legal practitioner, has praised the Ghana Police Service for deferring an earlier notification announcing the arrest of three senior officers in connection with the parliamentary inquiry into the leaked audio recording.
On Thursday, September 7, the Service declared that the Police Administration had decided to arrest George Alex Mensah, a Commissioner of Police (COP), Emmanuel Eric Gyebi, a Superintendent, and George Lysander Asare, another Superintendent.
"The interdiction is to allow for disciplinary proceedings into their conduct in accordance with Police Service regulations," the Service stated in a statement.
But, just 24 hours later, the Service reversed its judgement.
"In order to avoid jeopardizing the ongoing investigation, the Police Administration has suspended their interdiction," according to a statement issued by Public Affairs Director
