Man City Lost Several Matches But Won The UEFA Champions League – Chairman Wontumi Tells Mahama Not To Jubilate Over Assin North Victory

Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, regional chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ashanti, has advised former President Mahama not to celebrate their victory in Assin North.

According to former President Mahama, the NDC is likely to win the elections in 2024 because they won the by-election in Assin North.

This, Chairman wontumi has responded to the former president by stating that the seat was already held by the NDC, so there is no cause for Mahama to celebrate.

"In any event, what's so special about you winning an election in a constituency that already belonged to you? What gives you the impression that because you won the Assin north by-elections, you'll win the general elections? Think and speak as a former president," he said on the Movement In the Morning program on Movement TV/Wontumi radio.

Chairman Wontumi used Manchester City's path to UEFA Champions League victory as a case study.

He stated, "Manchester City is the reigning UEFA Champions League champion for 2022-2023." Would you claim that they never allowed a goal in any of their previous matches before the finals? Obviously, they lost a few contests. However, after those unsuccessful contests.

They confer and devise new strategies in order to improve their upcoming games, and it works. This is how they became UEFA Champions League champions."

He disclosed that the party leadership convened an emergency meeting yesterday in Assin Praso to debate and review all events preceding, occurring during, and following the by-election.

Chairman Wontumi instructed Mahama to refrain from tickling himself and giggling. Remember that the electorate of Assin North voted overwhelmingly for Nana Addo and the NPP in the 2020 elections, and don't assume that just because Gyakye Quayson was elected in the by-election that they will continue to vote for the NPP," he said.
