NPP Presidential & Parliamentary Primaries: Subin Requests Date Change

Eugene Boakye Antwi, Member of Parliament for the Subin Constituency, has asked the National Executive Officers of the NPP to alter the date of the Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries for the 2024 election.

The NPP's National Executive Officers have announced that the Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries will be conducted on November 4, 2023 and February 20, 2024, respectively.

However, the Honorable Boakye Antwi believes that if the date is moved to somewhere in August 2023, the NPP will be able to compete with the NDC, which will hold the earlier date.

On Friday, he lamented on the Wontumi TV Morning Show that their fiercest opponent, the NDC, will conduct its primaries seven months earlier.

"The timetable of the Primary Elections is not optimal. He told the sit-in host, Nana Konadu Abu Prah, "It's not too late to change it."

According to the Subin MP, the National Executive Officers chose the date without consultation.

November is budget presentation month and a busy month for parliamentary duties, he explained.
