Nogokpo chiefs summon Agyinasare to appear before them within 14 days

The Chiefs of Nogokpo, a community in the Volta Region, have summoned Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, the Founder of Perez Chapel International, to appear before them within fourteen days.

They express dissatisfaction with the explanation provided by the Man of God for his earlier characterization of Nogokpo as the region's demon capital.

They have therefore requested that the National Peace Council "assist Archbishop Charles Agyinasare in appearing before the Nogokpo community's council of elders within fourteen days for a peaceful resolution."

The convenor of the community, Nufialaga Mawufemor Korbla Nonyigbey, stated at a press conference on Friday, June 2 that "The Archbishop in his second sermon and clarification showed no remorse or regretfulness, an indication that he deliberately decided to tarnish the good reputation of the people of Nogokpo and a calculated damage mechanism of the usual religious intolerance to weaken African Traditional Religion"

Archbishop Agyinasare previously clarified that his remark about Nogokpo, a town in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region, was made without malice.

He stated, "Nogokpo is the headquarters of the demons in the Volta Region." I compelled Bishop Yaw Adu to speak about witchcraft on the second night, and we humiliated the witches and mages. When we were traveling from Aflao to Agbozome in Nogopko, the four-wheel drive of Bishop Yaw Adu, the tires fell off the vehicle.

In response to criticism, the Man of God clarified his statement as follows: "I have received messages from close associates, and my attention has been drawn to social media commentary on portions of remarks I made last Thursday at the Supernatural Empowerment Summit here in the Perez Dome.

"I was speaking about the divine protection Christians receive from God and instructing the congregation on how to activate divine protection against demonic assaults. As Charismatic Christians, this is a fundamental tenet of our faith.

"To emphasize my point, I cited several instances in which I have encountered manifestations of demonic powers during my crusades, which have led me to more than 92 countries around the globe. During a crusade in India, I provided an example of persons who desired to levitate. I described an assault I endured as a young pastor who had gone to preach at a bus stop near Korle Bu.

"I wish to clarify that I never intended to allude to the town of Nogokpo, but rather an incident that occurred after a crusade at Aflao. I had no intention of insulting the residents of Nogokpo Town or the Volta Region in general.

"My rapport with the people of the Volta Region has been very cordial. My 38-year-old wife is an Ewe from Keta. And two of my sons are named after Ewe. All of the examples I provided were not meant to belittle any of the communities or their inhabitants, but rather to illustrate to congregants the principle of divine protection.

"It is regrettable that misrepresentation and false information have characterized subsequent commentary and reporting.

"Over the past four decades, my ministry has served as a spiritual gatekeeper for our nation, and I remain committed to serving God's people and our country as the spirit guides me."
