Nothing Will Stop Us Now - Ablakwa Declares After Contempt Case Is Dismissed

Following the dismissal of a contempt suit filed against him by Secretary to the Trustees of the project Rev Victor Kusi Boateng, North Tongu Member of Parliament Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa stated that he now has "more vigor" and "more determination" to continue his exposés on the National Cathedral.

Rev. Kusi Boateng's lawsuit was dismissed by an Accra High Court on Tuesday, May 2, on the grounds that the evidence presented by the plaintiff did not satisfy the legal burden of proof.

After the verdict, the lawmaker told Laud Adu-Asare of Media General that he has been inspired to act in the national interest.

He stated that the outcome of the case has eliminated all obstacles preventing him from exposing the "shenanigans" schemes.

"[The dismissal of the case] gives us impetus, vigor, motivation, and inspiration to continue doing what is right in the national interest."

Akufo-Addo pledges that funds for the National Cathedral will be handled with integrity, transparency, and accountability.

"Nothing can halt us at this point. We are no longer going to be distracted by all of these shenanigans, the abuse of the judicial process, and I am glad that the judge really stamped the authority of the court and cleared this out of the way, dismissed it, and awarded costs so that we can concentrate on our work for God and country."

Moreover, he gave the clearest indication to date that he will continue to oppose the construction of the cathedral due to the sacrilege it contains.

"This will go down in history as the most reckless, corrupt, and ungodly undertaking ever, and it's a shame that it's being carried out in God's name. We will continue to oppose this endeavor and expose nothing but the truth because it is so blasphemous and sacrilegious."
