The Oti Boateng Old Students Association (OBOSA) presented the school's National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) team in Koforidua with items and cash totaling GHS7,000.
Mr. Samuel Kwesi Appah-Peniel, National President of OBOSA, presented the items at a brief ceremony and explained that the support for the school was in response to an appeal made to the old students association by the school's superintendent, Mr. Johnson Hawkson Arthur.
Mr. Appah-Peniel, president of OBOSA, stated that the donation of ICT equipment to the NSMQ team was intended to aid the team's research efforts in preparing pupils for the national championship.
In addition, the president encouraged the team to remain focused and determined in their pursuit of the trophy.
Mr. Johnson Hawkson Arthur, the school's superintendent, accepted the items on behalf of the school and the NSMQ team and thanked the old students association for their generosity.
The NSMQ team pledged to advance past the quarterfinal stage reached by their predecessors and go on to claim the national title.
Mr. Appah-Peniel was accompanied by Ms. Sylvia Omane Bonsie, the National Financial Secretary; Mr. Michael Kwasi Djasah, the National Treasurer; Mr. Charles Amenu, the National Organizer; Madam Edna Stonson, the 2003 Year Group treasurer; and Hajia Latifah Abdul-Rahaman, a member of the 2005 Year Group.
