Could this be why four Christians who fasted with the intention of meeting Jesus perished? Did their desire to encounter Jesus require them to fast until death? These are the concerns that have shook the Christian community following the deaths of four believers.
The tragic event occurred in the coastal Kenyan county of Kilifi.
The most recent information indicates that at least 47 Christians have perished while fasting to meet Jesus. Following the rescue and exhumation of bodies, today is April 23. According to a report seen by GhanaEducation.org, 18 additional bodies have been exhumed from shallow mass graves in the area where Christians convened many days ago to pray and fast.
According to the report, eight of the devout Christians interred by the rescue team were discovered prior to burial. By the conclusion of Sunday, April 23rd, the death toll stood at 47.
However, many more graves remain to be excavated, so the number of bodies is anticipated to increase.
In addition to the exhumation, at least three people were rescued today, but they refused first aid and insisted they be permitted to continue their fast to death.
At this time, the government aims to improve the search and deploy more officers to aid in the rescue mission, as it is now believed that a large number of the fasting individuals are nearing death.
