The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency President Nana Addo has by his own 'loose words' exposed the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The current economic crises facing Ghana, under the Nana Addo-Bawumia government, has worsened; to the extent, that the government has no other options, than to run to the IMF for support.
Currently, a team of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), is in Ghana having discussing with the government of Ghana on the possible ways to help Ghana out of the crises; which they claims was caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The team met, and had engagements with President Akufo Addo, Vice President Dr, Bawumia, Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, Governor of the Bank of Ghana Mr. Addison, Parliament’s Finance Committee, and representatives from the various government agencies; like the Trades Union Congress, the private sector, civil society organizations, and development partners.
President Nana Addo, during his ongoing tours in the Ashanti Region of Ghana; and in his attempts to update Ghanaians on the ongoing IMF negotiations, has use 'let go' of some words, that appears 'rude', and impolite towards the International Monetary Fund (IMF) world body.
According to him, the current International Monetary Fund (IMF) engagement with Ghana, is the most transparent engagement ever in the country's history.
He explained that, his government "has been candid to the Ghanaian public at every stage of discussion; and that, “This has been the most transparent IMF programme ever. Did you hear anything about the IMF in 2015"?.
The president said this whiles speaking on a Kumasi-based radio station, during his tours in the Ashanti Region on Monday October 17.
The President by these comments: "This has been the most transparent IMF programme ever. Did you hear anything about the IMF in 2015", means the IIMF as a body cannot be trusted, because it can be transparent to some governments, yet very unfaithful to other.
This again means that, the IMF team that engaged in negotiations with the NDC John Mahama government, in 2015, were not credible, and so their negotiations with Ghana were not transparent as they did this this Nana Addo-Bawumia government.
It can obvious; that President Nana Addo, by trying to please Ghanaians with his normal 'deceptive' and 'sugar quoted words, ended up exposing the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
