When asked about her professional and religious views on the subject of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTIQI) during her vetting by the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Friday, May 26, Chief Justice nominee Gertrude Torkornoo made the following statement.

The Deputy Minister of Education, who is also the Member of Parliament for Assin South, posed the query.

The Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, sometimes known as the Anti-Gay Bill, is a proposed law in Ghana.

The anti-gay measure, which is being proposed as a Private Members' measure, is anticipated to criminalize individuals of the activities of homosexuals in Ghana.
