Bread is one of the most beloved delicacies of the Ghanaian people. However, scientists have discovered that bread lacks nutritional value when compared to other foods such as fruits and vegetables. It is high in calories and carbohydrates but lacks protein, fat, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Therefore, excessive consumption is unhealthy.

The following health problems prohibit bread consumption unless prescribed by a medical professional.

#1. Diabetes.

Consuming bread increases the risk of obesity, which in turn increases the risk of developing diabetes. Normal bread is created with sugar and highly processed white flour. All diabetics should restrict their bread consumption or eliminate it entirely.

#2. Celiac disease

This is a particular form of gluten intolerance. Gluten consumption can result in the autoimmune condition of celiac disease. Also referred to as gluten intolerance. With celiac disease, your immune system reacts to gluten-containing foods. If you have this condition and consume gluten-containing foods, such as bread or cereal, you run the risk of experiencing symptoms that are life-threatening.

#3. cardiac disease

White bread, white rice, low-fiber breakfast cereals, and other refined or processed carbs can be hazardous to the heart. If you have a cardiac or heart issue, avoid bread.

If you suffer from any of the aforementioned health issues, you should avoid eating bread.
