The female genital region differs from woman to woman. Whether or not yours is comparable to another's does not indicate that it is aberrant. Here are seven types of vaginas and the reasons why yours is completely normal:
Your vagina may have asymmetrical lips, which means one of your labia is larger or smaller than the other. This is extremely common and nothing to worry about. "Consider how one of your eyes is typically smaller than the other; the same is true for the vagina," explains Ross.
2. SMALL LABIA: One of your labia may be curled into the vulva or outer vaginal lips, which are larger and cover your labia minora.
3. LARGE EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL LABIA: Your labia may be excessively large or puffed up. It is normal for the labia to extend beyond the vulva and protrude. You may discover that your undergarments, such as thongs, does not provide the necessary support.
4. EXTERNAL LABIA ARE MORE PROMINENT You may have outer labia lips that are small or shortened, which accentuates your labia minora and majora.
5. MORE PROMINENT INNER LABIA You may have a vagina in which the inner labia are more prominent or lengthier.
Your clitoris may be larger or more sensitive than average. According to Planned Parenthood, clitoris can differ from the "size of a small pea to the size of your thumb."
A vaginal color other than pink: Depending on a number of factors, the hue of your vagina may also vary. Some vaginas are brown or redder than others. Also not uncommon is discoloration of the epidermis surrounding the vagina. However, extremely inflamed skin or a rash may indicate a problem, such as a yeast infection.
