Akwasi Nti, the former chairman of the Fomena constituency of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), is in the news once more, this time declaring his support for the Vice President's campaign team.

Mr. Nti claims in a news story circulating on various websites that he decided to abandon Mr. Alan Kyerematen's camp because Alan never helped Mr. Afoko, Mr. Kwabena Agyapong, or Mr. Dzamesi when the latter decided to run for the Ketu South seat.

Mr. Solomon Owusu, an aide to Mr. Kyerematen, stated over the phone to Kasapaonline.com that Chairman Akwasi Nti has never been a part of the Alan 2024 project and that the only time Chairman Nti inquired about joining the Alan campaign team was when he spoke to Mr. Owusu on August 10,2022.

Mr. Owusu asserts that in the aforementioned conversation between himself and Chairman Nti, Chairman Nti told him that he had taken out a loan at a Bantama microfinance institution and that the interest rate was killing him, necessitating the transfer of two million Ghana cedis to address the problem. Mr. Owusu asserts that Chairman Nti asked him if Alan would grant him such a sum to go solve his problem.

"To emphasize the point, Chairman Nti was never a member of the Alan team, and now that he claims to have joined team Bawumia, it is safe to assume that he has been able to raise two million (Ghc2,000,000) from them, so he must be pleased," Solomon Owusu said.

He added that Chairman Nti should not be regarded seriously because he lacks credibility. According to him, a prime example is when he attempted to get Chairman COKA elected as the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, but failed miserably due to a lack of trust for personalities like himself who were campaigning for Chairman COKA.

Mr. Owusu claims that Chairman Benard Antwi Bosiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, has resolved to remain silent about the Vice President's campaign team due to the influence of Chairman Kofi Nti.
