Take your security into your own hands – Frimpong-Boateng told

After former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng was arrested by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), the Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, advised him to take his personal safety seriously.

After receiving an invitation from the Office many weeks ago, the famous cardiac surgeon is now the subject of an investigation because of the offer.

His report on the now-defunct Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM) was the impetus for his invitation to the meeting, which was held to discuss corruption and actions related to corruption.

Additionally, he was detained on suspicion of complicity in the disappearance of around 500 excavators as well as in the involvement of Symphony Limited, the business that is held by his son, in illegal mining.

Immediately after his arrest, a bail of two million Ghana cedis was set for him.

Dr. Apaak issued the following statement in response to this topic in the form of a tweet: "If this move is a plot to cow or intimidate Prof. Boateng for exposing the involvement of NPP officials, gov't officials, including some in the Presidency, in illegal mining/galamsey, it has failed on arrival." However, it is ultimately the responsibility of the Professor to ensure his own safety.
