The delegates are human beings; fear human beings – Addai-Nimoh

Francis Addai-Nimoh, a candidate for the position of flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated that in a manner, he feels betrayed since he was not able to secure the amount of votes necessary to be one of the five contenders who were voted for in the super delegates conference for the major internal elections on November 4. These elections will take place on November 4.

Due to the fact that Francis Addai-Nimoh and Boakye Agyarko received the same number of votes, a run-off between the two of them is necessary to determine who comes in fifth place.

Dr. Bawumia, the Vice President, received 629 votes, which is equivalent to 68.15 percent of the total. In second place was Kennedy Agyapong, who received 132 votes (14.3 percent), followed by Alan Kyerematen, who received 95 votes (10.29 percent).

Mr. Addai-Nimoh is quoted as having commented, "They [delegates] are human beings and so fear human beings."

When asked if he was disheartened by the fact that he did not place in the top five, he responded, "If you are looking for a certain number of votes and you didn't get it, you can say betrayal."

When asked a second time if he would step down so that Boakye Agyarko might become the fifth aspirant, he responded, "Not at all, the rules are there, and we are following the rules." According to the standards, a run-off election must take place in the event of a tie.
