Lawyer Samuel Dubik Mahama, the managing director of the energy Company of Ghana (ECG), has issued a strong warning to energy users who are involved in unlawful meter connections. The ECG has launched an operation to recover money that their clients owe them.Beginning on March 20, the operation will go until April 20, 2023.The ECG Boss ordered people who had illegally linked their meters to do so immediately or refrain from doing so, adding that the company's next operation would be to arrest all unlawful users, in an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's "kokrokoo" show.He said that ECG employees will be sent to their clients' houses together with police officers."The bypass, or illegal connection, is theft since, in your mind, you haven't made up your mind to pay.

You will therefore be accused of stealing because you are going to pay, he said.Customers were advised not to deny police officers access to their homes, with the reminder that "the meter in your house belongs to us."

'Property of the Electricity Company of Ghana' is inscribed on it, so we are going to check our meter.
