The Golden Arms, Ghana's National Armwrestling Team, are set to compete at the ongoing World Combat Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from October 24-28, 2023. The team will be represented by two female pullers: Captain Grace Mintah, a police officer, in the Women's 80kg category, and Mariam Kadri Moro, who will compete in the Women's +80kg category.

These pullers qualified from the recent Africa Championship held in Accra and are being coached by Husseini Akuetteh Addy, who also serves as the Technical Director and Head Referee for Africa.

The delegation is led by DCOP Lydia Yaako Donkor, a board member of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF) and chairperson for Greater Accra Armwrestling. Sedinam Gbeve Esq. will accompany them as the team's chaperon. They will engage with industry stakeholders as Ghana prepares to host the 2024 World Armwrestling Championship.

Ghana will participate in the Combat Games Armwrestling event on Friday and Saturday.

President Charles Osei Asibey has been appointed as the team leader for Africa, representing pullers from Ghana, Nigeria, Benin, Cameroon, Mali, and Egypt.

The World Combat Games, spanning up to ten days, will serve as a focal point for combat sports, acting as a bridge between elite sport and local communities. This event aims for a streamlined and manageable format, providing cities with an opportunity for targeted international promotion, youth engagement, and the advancement of public health and wellness through initiatives that inspire participation in combat sports.
