The Member of Parliament for Atiwa East Abena Osei-Asare on (December 26, 27 and 28) threw a party for children in her constituency as part of the Christmas festivities.

The 2022 edition of the ‘MP’s Kids Party’ hosted at least 2000 children from Tiawia,Subrisu and Nanapa adjoining communities in the constituency.

Motivation

After dancing and eating, the children were also given new bags, exercise books and numerous items. The MP said the gesture forms part of the many activities her office has embarked on throughout the year.

“Christmas is a period of giving gifts so we had to invite the children from less privileged homes in this constituency to make merry and eat foods of their choice… ” the MP said during an interview with Oyerepa Tv

“Not only did the children satisfy themselves with food and assorted drinks, but also I distributed to them school materials such as bags and exercise books to aid in their studies.”

She said there are plans to extend the gesture to other communities within the constituency in the coming days.

Parents and children elated

This is not the first time the lawmaker who doubles as a Deputy Minister of Finance under the Akufo-Addo administration has held such event.

Ama Tiwaa, a 35-year-old mother of three, used the occasion to introduce her children to the MP where the lawmaker advised them to “study hard and be responsible citizens in the constituency”.

15-year-old Jennifer says she now has a new school bag and some exercise books to start the next academic year.

“I thank the MP for the donation. May the good Lord richly bless her”, she said.

The Queen mother of Tiawia give thanks to Mp for her works she is doing in the consistency.
