BURKUM-TSRETSOM M/A JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING NOW A DEATH TRAP, STUDENTS CALL FOR HELP.

Residents of the Burkum- Tsretsom near KLO-AGOGO, in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region, are calling on the Government to give priority to construction of the School building in the Community.




The M/A School at Burkum Tsretsom is in dire need of infrastructure and logistics for the academic progress of the pupils.

The Dademaste Tetteh Kweku, said the construction of Burkum-Tsretsom M/A School is not beyond the capabilities of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Eric Tetteh as he claim that the School at other locality within the Burkum -Tsretsom Community in the Yilo Krobo Municipality have been constructed by the Assembly hence the need to benefit from proper School construction.

He said" they have severally petitioned authorities to consider reshaping the road, but nothing has been done hence their decision to boycott the 2024 general election if the School and the road is not constructed.

The Herdmaster of the School, added that the School becomes death traps.

"Our School are our main concern, we have made numerous appeals to the Municipal Assembly to come and roof the JHS that the former MCE, Hon. Kubualo Tetteh, built but all our appeals have fallen on deaf ears". The Herdmaster said.

"As they say education is the key but our School building becomes death trap". He added.


he continued by pleading with Non- Governmental Organizations(NGOs) and individuals for assistance to repair the current dilapidated structure serving the children, because they are suffering a lot from the death trap School and road.

Hon. Eric Amoatey Lawer, and the residents claim successive governments have neglected them as far as the construction of the School is concerned.

"Pregnant women are dying" children are dying, and when they fall sick they find it difficult to go to the hospital.

The Assemblyman for the area, Hon. Eric Amoatey Lawer speaking to Rite fm news, Nenebi Ayertey David. He said they have cocoa, Cassava, maize, Plantain etc Due to the bad nature of their road farmers are suffering.
