E/R: Brekumanso Incoming Assembly Man Hopeful Registers Over 520 residents Onto NHIS

Over five hundred and Twenty in the West Akim District in the Eastern Region are to be registered under the National Health Insurance Scheme for free.




The incoming Assembly Man for the Brekumanso Electoral Area, Honorable Joseph Adator speaking with Accra fm/CTV news reporter Apelete Kofi-Michel, paid for the registration as part of his resolve to deliver quality health care to the people in his Electoral Area.

The gesture by the incoming Assembly Man hopeful was in sync with the Project 520 residents, introduced by the National Health Insurance Scheme in October this year. The project is intended to encourage more residents to register onto the National Health Insurance Scheme.

At a ceremony to kick-start the process, Hon. Joseph Adator said registering residents onto the scheme will enable them have access to healthcare especially during emergency situations.

We are doing this to have more of the residents captured under the scheme who can have access to quality healthcare, to prevent absenteeism in hospital.

He said more communities within the Constituency has been targeted to benefit from the free registering which will see more than 520 residents benefiting.

This will come as a relief to residents who find it difficult registering themselves onto the NHIS.


He again hinted that the National Health Insurance Scheme is committed to achieving the United Nation’s Universal Health coverage by 2030 hence is resolved to enroll more of the people onto the scheme.

Brekumanso Queen mother Obaapanin Kosima lauded Hon. Joseph Adator for accepting to freely enroll the residents onto the scheme. She called on individuals and institutions to also come on board to make the project a success.

On her part called for support for the project. She entreated more people to register onto the scheme to improve access to healthcare.

The pupils at Brekumanso who were beneficiaries of the free NHIS registration were full of excitement. They speak to Accra fm/CTV news reporter Apelete Kofi-Michel thanked the Hon. Joseph Adator for the gesture saying it will go a long way to ensure easy access to healthcare.

They Therefore appealed to the government that when they go to the hospital with NHIS, is not working they more money while they are having the insurance card.
