The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency who doubles as Deputy Minister of Education incharge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo popularly called Hajia Kande, has promised to give Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc5,000) to every girl and One Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc1,000) to every boy who attains aggregate six in this year's Basic Certificate Examination BECE, currently underway.




The Deputy Minister of Education gave this promise to the BECE Candidates in Abuakwa North when she visited the various examination centres within the Municipality together with Hon Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga, Municipal Chief Executive and the Municipal Director of Education, Madam Abena Gyamerah on 7th August, 2023 to motivate them.

The Examination Centres were, Akyem Osiem Saviour Memorial SHS, Akyem Old Tafo WBM Zion SHS and Ofori Panin SHS.

She admonished parents to be part of the school selection process and embrace free TVET for their wards.

The Legislator posited that, after school jams shouldn't be encouraged by parent to avoid any social vices which will hinder their wards access to the flagship Free Senior High School policy.

Honourable Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga, also promised to give One Thousand Ghana Cedis ( GHc 1,000) to every girl who gets between aggregate six to nine.

He added that, the Nana Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) has done a lot in the Municipality through the lobbying skills of Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo.

He noted that, all Junior High Schools in the Municipality are fitted with white marker boards, no furniture deficit at the primary schools, second batch of furniture to be supplied to Junior High Schools, nine new ultra morden school blocks have reached various stages of completion among others.

Honourable Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga, further called on all Ghanaians to rally behind Government for socio-economic development of the country.

According to Madam Abena Gyamerah, one thousand six hundred and thirty-six (1,636) Candidates comprising eight hundred and twenty-eight (828) males and eight hundred and eight (808) females are sitting for the examination which will end on Friday 11th August, 2023.
