Amanfrom in Okere District of Ghana in the Eastern Region to host Maiden Cassava Festival in the Okere District.
According to the MCE of Okere, Hon Daniel Kenneth, cassava farmers in Ghana, experts, professionals, high-level leaders, the international development community, and innovators from across the world will visit Ghana this year to attend the inaugural global cassava festival conference scheduled for December, 2025, in Amanfrom in the Okere District, Eastern Region.
"Under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture and Okere Akwapem base foundation through the District Assembly of Okere, the festival conference is organised by the Okere Cassava Foundation on Expertise, The World Institute, And The World Economic in Ghana " Cassava Resilience for Development,” will serve as a platform for actionable dialogue and the exchange of innovative ideas among policy makers and industry leaders that are expected to contribute to the advancement of Youth capacity building on a global market.
The Agric Ministry selected Okere District to host the cassava festival demonstrates the country’s hard work and dedication to building the youth in farming digital ecosystem.
Nana Addo Ababio, Committee Chairman of the found said, this is the first time Ghana is organising and hosting cassava festival in Okere.

The omanhene of Amanfrom Nana Tete Odwakwao lll, said cassava is tropical root crop and represents due to its high content of starch,a basic daily source of dietary energy for more than 500 people in Ghana.

farmers resilience and capacity building in the international development agenda and in national development plans and investments as key enablers of sustainable development, inclusive economic growth, and social prosperity for all.
A major highlight of the cassava festival conference will witness the announcement of the Okere declaration: a global framework for cassava farmers collaborative initiatives to help Ghana increase employment in Ghana.
